Author of the week

Hi I am Jordan I am the author of the week this week.

Today and yesterday we had Mr Mason for our teacher because Mrs McDonald is away. We have been working on our brain activities and our reports - everyone really wants to get them finished to get pingers. We did lots of drama activities and music with Mr Mason and he even showed us one of his songs that he wrote - it was really cool!!!

Today we had a parade at school of all the people wearing hilarious hats. This was to raise money for Mums on the Run who are raising money for Oxfam. Look on the school website for more hilarious hats and photos of the parade.

We have been to the ICT Pod to work on our brain power posters to show all about how we learn best.
LEARNING INTENTION: To show information about being a successful learner and my strengths as a learner
SUCCESS CRITERIA: I have ceated a vibrant and colourful poster. I have included information about tools that a successful learner uses. I have included information about the practical things I can do to be a succesful learner. I have included photos or drawings. I have considered and checked the page layout.
PLAN YOUR POSTER: Your name. a photo of your self, statements about your strengths of 2 habits of mind. A section on how you learn best. A short profile of a role model. Several photos of you in a different learning experence. A goal you would like to achieve.

Story Time with Mr McDonald

Hi my name is Emma J and I am author of the week. Each day I will be writing some information about what happened each day. Today we have been working on cooperative skills on the book Emily's art by Peter Catalanotto. In our groups we have been given a set of questions we have to answer on that book. We were supposed to be swimming today but due to only 9 people having their togs we couldn't go ): So instead we listened to some talks. After that we went to the computer pod and we worked on our brain power posters. They are going to look really brilliant. After lunch we had MR.Mcdonald reading 'dear as salt' it was very funny, he had to speak in a girl voice for it. We have a video of him reading 'dear as salt'.

Today I'm talking about our buddies.
The stuff we have been doing with our buddies is:getting the fun equipment like crazy catchers, sitting on trolleys and using the paddleball set.
We always get to do some work before playing with fun equiment.

Art workshop

We gained some new skills at the art workshop on Wednesday. We learnt about shading, setting the limits of the picture and estimating proportions by looking at fractions in relation to the shapes in the picture. Most felt a great sense of achievement and produced some great still life drawings.

We have had a fantastic time at Gymnastics for 5 sessions. We have been learning to safely land, to roll, to do statics and manipulative activities. View our slide show to some of us in action.
